I started athletics the day after my 8th birthday, starting off with hurdles, high jump, long jump and shot putt being my events. At 11yrs old at a local championships there wasn’t any shot putt so I threw discus this was the 1st time I had picked up a discus and came 23rd in the UK rankings with that throw. The year after this I started concentrating on the discus being placed 6th in the National all time rankings and 1st in the UK rankings for that year. Following from this I focused on throws (shot putt and discus) gaining 2 English schools titles for shot putt, a national title for discus and many 2nd and 3rd placings in national competitions. In the 2008/2009 season I started training properly for hammer, having trained a little to be able to compete in league competitions for my club, and improved my pb from 46.61 to 54.01. 2010 was my 1st year not being injured in 4 years after an ankle operation to repair torn ankle ligaments and cartilage. 2011 without training I managed to improve my discus pb to 46.06. During 2012 I managed to improve my hammer pb to 57.16. I also had the honour of competing in the Olympic stadium as part of the test event which was also the British University Athletics Championships. During this competition I became the 1st female discus champion in the stadium, the only athlete at the championships and the 1st athlete competing in the stadium to win 3 medals.

Representative Honours
I have represented English schools at the home counties international, including Scottish, Welsh and Irish schools. I have also represented England at 17 and under, 19 and under and senior in the International Croatia throws competition in 2008 gaining wins in the younger competitions and 7th in the seniors. The indoor season of 2010 I represented England u20’s at the Celtic international winning the competition., whilst during the outdoor season I was selected to represent GB juniors at the Loughborough international , both for shot putt. During the 2011 season I represented BUCS at the Loughborough International for discus and hammer and then represented England at the DecaNation championships in Nice, France, throwing the shot putt. Unfortunately in my warm up throws I injured myself, resulting in my worst throw in a few seasons.

Outside athletics:
I am currently looking to work as a support worker volunteer at a disability group and earn great satisfaction seeing that we help the children become physically active. I also like the challenge of trying to adapt activities to suit the different levels of disability.
