As a youngster, Daniel competed in both wheelchair basketball and swimming, but preferred athletics and chose to concentrate on the shot and discus.
Daniel made his fourth Paralympics appearance in Beijing and he has medalled at three Games so far. His brace of silvers at the 2006 World Champs was his best performance yet on the international stage. During which he added 16cm for a new personal best of 38.16m in F33/34 discus, but Iran’s Saleh Farajzadeh threw a world record 39.98m for gold. Daniel is employed as Information and Communications Officer for EFDS at Loughborough University. He has a degree in Leisure Studies with Sports Development from Colchester Institute. |
