|Have entered all the performances from this weekend's championships at a wet and windy Birmigham. There are some performances left to identify and some where the date of birth we had differs to what appears in the BMAF records. Please let us know if your details are incorrect.
As for me, well I was pleased with my first appearance in the championships coming 8th in the M40 1500 on Saturday in 4:25.64. Not quite fit enough to hold onto the back of the leading bunch so was a tough last few laps. My 5000 on Sunday was much better, easily setting a vets PB of 16:24.87 to come 5th in the M40 race and 7th in the joint M35/M40. Fortunately the rain stopped, wind dropped and the sun came out for our race which made the trip up again from near London worth it. Could almost sniff a medal here so now know what need to do - and for the 1500, at least, a few more trips up the track for track sessions needed than have managed last few weeks. I might even have to try some 800s again.
Good to meet a few people - Ian Thomas who does a sterling job with all the results plus Mike Robbins in the car park, Stewart Macdonald on the warm down, Dave Reader my fellow BMC "official", Edmond Simpson, Sean Beard, Andrew del Nevo and chasers Phil York & Paul Lemmon.
