Undefeated in 100m by any other Welsh disabled athlete 1980-1992. Provisional Paralympic Squad member for the Games in 1984,1988 and 1992.
Commenced coaching in 1993. Notable athletes coached to the following successes include:-
Steve Ingram (7.91m Long Jumper & 1994 Wales Commonwealth Games Competitor),
John McFaul (Single Leg Amputee 100m ex-British record holder - went on to win 100m bronze at 2004 Beijing Paralympics)
Hannah Brier (7th in 2014 Commonwealth Games 4 x 100m relay, 6th in World Youth Champs 100m 2015, 6th World Junior Champs 100m 2016. Hannah also equalled Welsh Senior 100m record in 2015 & 2016 with 11.39sec, whilst still only 17.
In 2010 I coached all 4 of the athletes who, at the time, set a new U13 girls 4 x 100m relay best time of 51.7secs
Also coached 3 athletes who gained GB Junior vests in 2016.
My ambition is to be able to coach an athlete from the junior age groups right through to senior level, and have them be very successful in a major championships. Luckily I've had the chance to do it to two International Major Junior Champs (World U18 & World U20 Champs).
My philosophy on coaching is keep it simple, keep it fun, keep it effective. |
