Tom is coached by Richard Holt of Momentum Sports and is currently a part of their Project 2012 set up, which provides him with additional support beyond coaching, such as sports massage and nutritional advice.

Although a serious knee injury sustained playing rugby has curtailed his progress somewhat, Tom has shown signs of returning to his very promising form of 2008 and 2009. Having started off as an 80m Hurdler at Under 15 level,

Tom carried his talent over to the 100- and finally 400m Hurdles. As an Under 17, he won the Surrey Championships and also took silver in the South of England Championships in the 100m Hurdles.

The 400m Hurdles also brought success in the form of a debut win in the British Athletics League, Silver in the U20 Surrey County Championships, and a place in the final English Schools Championships.

Having recovered from the injury, he is now ready to make a full attempt at winter training and to fulfill his potential in 2012.
