Michael no longer runs the Junior Athletics program at Paddington recreation ground c/o Everyone Active - Randolph Avenue, London W9 1PD Which he helped Launch c/o GLL Better back in 2012 For 5-11 year olds It consists of 2 sessions 5-8yrs 4.30-5.30 and 9-11yrs 5.30-6.30 He helped launch a pilot Summer Athletics camp - P2P August 2017 c/o Everyone Active He ended his primary School PE career at St Saviours by winning the Active Hero award for Westminster in 2019 As a resident of Bermondsey he also helped with the Junior section of LCAC at Southwark Park Athletics track (London City Athletics Club now Southwark Park Athletics Club) He now works as an Inclusive Sports & Activities Manager for an adult mental health organisation Core Arts Hackney ( 2017 - current ) helping to get adults that identify with or have mild to severe mental illness Physically & socially active. Using sport and physical activity not only as a physical help, but to promote a healthy lifestyle and Create social integration Sporting History: Competing from mid 70's as a schoolboy via Haringey & Southgate Thru 80's to 90's gaining my first Junior GB International representing England as a senior in Representative matches indoors & out i.e. GB vs USA Several European Clubs cup competitions in Belgrade; Milan & Jerez Highlights being Competing in the same competition as Mike Conley; Being in the same British team as Steve Ovett; Seb Coe; Linford Christie; etc. Gaining a bronze medal in the European Clubs Cup in Belgrade. Competing alongside the Likes of Mike Mcfarlane(RIP); Tony Jarrett; DaltonGrant, John Herbert, Colin Jackson etc. Travelling to countries like Norwa,y Sweden, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Spain & Portugal As a vet/masters athlete travelled to Le Touquet France 2006 to do my only masters International to date. Doubling up in the Long Jump & Triple Jump events while injured! Yet still jumping my best for the year on..... the adrenalin of the occasion & the support from the locals. Coaching History: I started coaching in the mid 90's spent a few years away from the sport 2007-2010 getting children into athletics through PE & after school clubs in Primary schools. I helped pilot a Junior Athletics program @Paddington recreation ground for Under 12's. Very early days/months but was encouraged by the enthusiasm of the children that attended. Looking forward to continuing the legacy of an Amazing LONDON 2012 OLYMPICS & PARALYMPICS!! Glad to say That the Junior Athletics program I started at Paddington recreation ground via GLL/BETTER Went from strength to strength And continued under new management Everyone Active through until summer 2019 Both 5-7 & 8-12 program's had grown and became feeder groups for Serpentine over 12’s Athletics group also based at Paddington recreation ground. Worked as Senior coach at LCAC juniors @ Southwark park Track until July 2019. Restarted 2021/22 now Re launched as Southwark Park Athletics Club - SouthHawks coaching U12’s alongside Debbie. Still hoping to compete in a British Masters Championships in 2025
