Pedigree: Maternal Grandfather (Charlie ‘runner’ Allen) allegedly a reserve for 1908 GB Olympic Marathon Team but which some research that I did and published a few years ago largely disproved this theory as he was only 15th in the 2008 Olympic Poly Marathon Trial

3 South of England XC team golds (1971- 1973) (best individual position 25)
2 National XC team bronzes (1971 & 1972) (best individual position 72)
20 Berks, Bucks Oxon XC championship medals (1962 – 1983)
Twice ran at White City for Bucks in Inter-Counties Mile

World Veterans’ Marathon Champion (M40) 1987 2:26:45
European Vets 5000 champion (M40) 1986
World Vets 5000 Bronze 1987 (15:06)
13 British Vets Championship individual gold medals
3 AAA’s Veterans Team Relay golds when member of all conquering AFD team from 1988 in M40 8-stage race
1 BMAF M60 Relays team gold at 60 (2004)
Four times selected for England Vets XC Team (M40 & M45)
Run over 130,000 miles in Training but no longer have the urge to go out and even try following a slightly wonky knee. I
n 2020. This despite diagnosis of leaky Aortic heart valve, that has led to Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation. This is now controlled by beta blockers as the Flacainide Acettate that eliminated the problem and removed the missing heartbeat that many runners have became less efficient as I aged,.
